Certain image converters may not be flexible enough to satisfy your needs or you may not find the output format that you need. This is not the case with Any Image. Besides the fact that it supports numerous output formats, you can load multiple input files, in different formats and make a wide range of settings and adjustments. Of course, if you just want to convert your pictures, you will not have to go through any additional settings. The software works like a wizard and it lets you choose what steps to go through.

You can use Any Image on Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7, even if you have older hardware. The software's system requirements are very low. The installation process is almost instantaneous and you just need to specify a destination folder and create a few shortcuts.

As previously mentioned, Any Image works exactly like a wizard. Obviously, the first step is to load your pictures. You may select any number of files, in different formats, at the same time. The next page is where you can select any output paths and format and make various settings. Clicking a few check boxes will make the software delete the source files, skip or overwrite without prompting, save the output files in the source directory and more. Additionally, you may resize the images by a percentage, a new resolution or by selecting a resampling method.

Your settings can be saved as a preset, so you can use them again, at a later date. If you want to convert your pictures and nothing else, you can just click the Start button and the process will begin immediately. If you want more output settings, you may click a few check boxes and the wizard will take you through additional stages, instead of starting the conversion process. A useful feature is that it gives you the possibility of selecting multiple output formats. The software can perform up to eight conversion processes in a single run. You can use a series of drop menus, during one of the optional steps, to select different formats, qualities and color settings. Additionally, you may tick an option, on the same page, to save each output format in a separate sub-folder.

Another set of options includes a series of controls for adjusting the brightness, contrast, gamma, sharpness and other aspects of your pictures. It is also possible to change the orientation of your images, add frames, translate the file names into 7-bit ASCII and more. During the third optional stage, you will find options for creating an index. You will be able to select a number of columns per row, use URLs to replace the linked or thumbnail image path, set a maximum thumbnail size and more.

Pros

You can use the software either for a basic conversion or you can go through a more complex process. Any Image is capable of performing multiple conversions in a single run, resize or adjust images, create an index and much more. The software's controls are familiar, so you will not have a hard time adjusting to it.

Cons

The lack of an image preview makes it difficult to adjust the brightness, contrast and other levels. Any Image offers much more than simple conversion features. It lets you make a very wide range of settings and adjustments on your images, for results of a higher quality.
